This title and first line of Kenya’s
national anthem, composed in
Swahili as “Ee Mungu nguvu yetu”
in 1963, the year Kenya became
independent, serve as a backdrop
for these photographs from
St. Lawrence’s collection. They
were part of a Brush Gallery
exhibition in conjunction with
Reunion Weekend’s 40th anniversary
observances of the Kenya Program.
