all on the banks of the river and under the pines.

Tiffany Illsley Peña

comed her second child, Carter Michael Peña, on
July 14, 2011. Her 2-year-old daughter, Maria, has
already adjusted to her oldest sibling role. “Maria
loves being a big sister and we couldn’t be hap-
pier!” Tiffany says.

August 5 in Portland, Me. “We are all enjoying

June for her baby shower.
Kendra Horton Peaslee

baby girl into the family when Abigail Grace Pea-
slee was born July 30. “Everyone is doing well and
is healthy,” she shares. Big congratulations to these
new families!

everyone in our class is well and in good spirits.

“We had 75 friends and family members travel
to the Caribbean for a full weekend of fun,” she
reported. Among them were Laurentians Kerry
Walter ’06, bridesmaid, Kelly O’Connell ’08, Janina
Sullivan ‘07, Clare Joscelyne ’07, Ali Boulanger ’08,
Eileen Svendsen ’06 and Casey Coons ’11, grooms-
man.“We were all members of the volleyball team,
except Casey, my brother, who was a lacrosse
player,” she explained. She and Andy moved from
San Francisco, Cal., to Attleboro, Mass., last sum-
mer, when she accepted a promotion with Amica
Mutual Insurance.“We are in the process of buying

reunion in the near future!” she said.
Spencer Homick
is living in Budapest for a
year, studying Hungarian and making art. He ex-
tends an invite to any classmate passing through
Europe to reach out if they want to see Budapest
and need a place to crash.

setts bar exams at the end of July, and started

Hello Class of 2006! It was nice to hear from a
large group of classmates this time, and I am ex-
cited to report some great news in the lives of
our classmates.
Emily Crispino
graduated from St. Lawrence
in May with her M.Ed. and relocated to Boston. She
works at Cengage Learning in their online learning
department.
Kate Burdick Graft
wrote in to report that
her wedding on September 10 was a great suc-
cess. Kate’s husband is a Miami (Ohio) alumnus
who she met at the wedding of Dan Lee ’05 and
Kelsey Cochran. SLU alumni from the classes of
’69-’08 were in attendance at their ceremony in
upstate NewYork.
Kate moved to Chicago over a year ago and
works in relationship development and events for
the National Alzheimer’s Association. Kate adds,“I
have been fortunate enough to be involved in the
planning of some of the Association’s major fund-
raising galas, including the Rita Hayworth Galas in
NewYork City and Chicago as well as ‘A Night at
Sardi’s’ in Los Angeles.”
Emily Bearse
is in her second year teaching
history and coaching outdoor education at The
Woodhall School in Bethlehem, Conn. Over the
summer, she completed a 30-day Backpacking and
Whitewater Canoeing Outdoor Educator NOLS
program in theYukon, Canada.
Colleen Callahan-Panday
was married ear-
lier this year to Prajjwal Panday ’05. Colleen actu-
ally had two ceremonies, one a Nepali ceremony
(Hindu temple, red sari, etc.) and one a traditional
American ceremony. She notes that “the recep-
tion had a mix of rock and roll and Bollywood
music—fun for all!”
Colleen was recently promoted to assistant di-

scholars at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in
Worcester, Mass., where the college welcomed
their largest class of international students ever in
September 2011. Congratulations, Colleen!
Theresa Petray
has accepted a perma-
nent job at James Cook University in Townsville,
Queensland, Australia, although she is hoping to
apply for a postdoctoral position for the next
three years. Theresa did some extensive traveling
this fall, including visits to Hong Kong, Switzerland
and Scotland, and then visiting family back in the
United States. Theresa also was on campus as
part of the Laurentians-in-Residence Program in
October.
Rachel Henderson
checked in from Morgan-
town,W.Va., where she writes, “I am still plugging
away at my master’s in professional writing and ed-
iting atWVU. In May, I was promoted at
WV LIVING
magazine from intern to assistant editor and have
been working full-time since then. We recently
launched what was the biggest project of our sum-
mer: www.wvliving.com. Ironically, for my master’s,
I am enrolled this fall in an internship (in lieu of
having to write a thesis) and I managed to arrange
