letic Hall of Fame. Equestrienne
Carol Schneible Lewis ’80 was
inducted in 2003.

goals, scoring six and assisting on five oth-
ers. Senior goaltender Brian Abernethy
set the team record for shutouts in a sea-
son with 13; established a scoreless minute
streak of 1259:08 over 14 games, second
in Division III history; and was the DIII
statistical champion in goals-against aver-
age at 0.31.
Other fall sport highlights included
a Liberty League tournament appear-
ance by women’s soccer, which was led
by a senior class that earned two Liberty
League tourney berths in its four seasons.
Field hockey also earned a Liberty League
tournament spot as senior co-captains
Julia Croyle and Emily Riley each earned
Regional All-America honors. Volleyball
also earned a berth in the Liberty League
championships. Football finished 3-6, but
half of the losses were by a touchdown or
less. Senior tailback Marcus Washington
became the first Saint to rush for 1,000
yards in a season since Mike Aubel in
1991, finishing with 1,176 yards, and
earned unanimous first-team All-Liberty
League honors.
