CLASS NOTES
48 SUMMER 2012 | ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY MAGAZINE
bourbon is made by Steve Nally, who was the
master distiller at Maker's Mark for 15 years. WW
is currently aging over 3,000 barrels in three
warehouses and will have 200 ready for release
on December 1...but only in Wyoming, so you
will have to visit Dave to have a taste. After the
rst year on the market, they hope to hit various
markets across the country because the available
volume increases to 1,300 barrels per year. Dave
is still practicing law, and enjoying it, but this
will change his focus for the foreseeable future.
Check it out on www.wyomingwhiskey.com and
Facebook.
Josh Crawford

“He is doing very important work to get money
out of politics,” says Josh. Nick works with United
Republic, “a nonpartisan organization challeng-
ing the undue in uence of well- nanced special
interests over American politics and government,”
according to www.unitedrepublic.org, where you
can also nd a video clip of Nick on the show.
If anyone is interested in being the class reporter,
I am most willing to pass the baton at any time,
so just let me know. Thank you to everyone who
made the trek to St. Lawrence! If you didn’t make
it, be assured you were missed!

Last time, our news was all about the babies. This
time, we report on a few professional accomplish-
ments.
Christopher Kenney
is still working at the Wil-
liam McKinley Presidential Library and Museum,
where he has been for 11 years. He’s recently
added teaching duty, as an assistant lecturer at
the University of Akron. He will be teaching His-
tory 484/584, Museums and Archives. The course
description states that “topics will include evolu-
tion of museums and archives, archival and arti-
fact care and handling, archival resources, exhibit
development, museum education and material
culture." I loved my archives course in graduate
school and can only imagine how much more
wonderful it would have been to have Chris as a
teacher! I wonder if I could take a sabbatical in
Ohio….
Travis Barrett
is well on his way to becoming
a successful author. In March, he said, “My rst
novel,
Test of a Prince, a Dark Fantasy Epic
, was
published in print and for the Kindle by Twisted
Library Press last December. Its sequel,
The Vale of
Shade
, will be available by June.
The Night Library
,
a collection of my previously published short sto-
ries (and some new), will be available by that time
as well.”
Travis has another book (a comedy) under con-
tract. It’s is about a Vermont Sasquatch and a
werewolf who go on a road trip together:
Hairy
Bromance
. He also has two other novels nished,
one adult and one for kids. You can learn more
about his writing at http://tlbarrett.blogspot.com,
and he says, “You can like me on Facebook at ‘T. L.
Barrett- the writer,’ and
Test of a Prince
has a page,
too.”
I don’t read too much fantasy, but I will probably
put
Hairy Bromance
on my reading list. Anyone
interested in a Class of ’96 book club?
Congratulations to Chris and Travis for all that
they have accomplished. And thanks to both
of them for answering my pleas for information.
Surely they aren’t the only classmates with news
to share. Don’t be humble. And don’t make me
beg! Drop me an email or a Facebook message.

Tori Davies Weil
wrote with news of her family
relocating to Los Angeles in December, fromNew
Jersey. They have a 5-year-old daughter, Sophie.
Tori would love to connect with Laurentians in the
LA area and encourages using her contact infor-
mation found on Facebook.
Denise Durant
wrote that "My move and new
job have been very good for me and my family.
Change is good!! It has encouraged me to get
‘me’ time, so I am training for a half-marathon in
Frederick, Md., that I am doing with a high school
friend who lives there. Yep, even ex-goal keepers
CAN do this!" Dr. Durant, a hand surgeon, moved
from Bennington to St. Albans, Vt., last winter.
I hope to hear from many more classmates for
the next magazine.

baby girl, Adella, up to Boston last winter to see
Lauren Geller Webel
and her new baby girl
Tegan, who turned 5 months in March.

also joined in the fun. Abi reported that it
was a great reunion although too short! I hope
