CLASS NOTES
SUMMER 2012 | ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY MAGAZINE 49
to meet up with several SLU friends this summer
while we visit
JimMacGregor
’s family in western
Massachusetts.
Katymade another trip to the Dominican Repub-
lic during the winter, this time for fun. Previously,
she had gone as a volunteer onmedical missions.
This time,
Katie Smith
(“Little Katie Smith”) joined
her. Katie also lives in Boston.
Jim and I met
Amy Rondeau
for dinner in Alex-
andria, Va., in early March. It was so great to see
each other after living in Rei College together so
many years ago. Through the power of Facebook,
Amy and I realized we lived so close together that
it was ridiculous not to have dinner. Of course it
took us two months to nd a free date on both
calendars! We had a wonderful evening catching
up and sharing stories.
Amy has lived in Alexandria for two years. She
works for Deloitte on a government contract, and
really enjoys her work there. She was planning on
getting married in April and was looking forward
to her honeymoon in London and to becoming
the world’s greatest stepmom!
Daniel Jalbert
started a new job at the Career
Center at Boston College. Dan worked at Emman-
uel College for ve and a half years, most recently
as the assistant director in the o ce of internships
and career development.
In other news,
Colleen Morrow Robertia
com-
pleted her second Iditarod--the Alaskan dog sled-
ding race covering more than 1,000 miles. She
nished 21st out of 53 nishers. Congratulations
to Colleen!! For more, see page 11.
Jim and I spent eight nights in London with our
kids, Elizabeth and Alex, over spring break. It was
my rst time there since my London semester in
my junior year. It was so much fun to show my
family all of my favorite spots around the city!

Hello Class of 1999, fromyour new class reporter!
I rst want to take a moment to thank our previ-
ous class reporter, CPT
James M. Burnett
, for his
work. I also want to thank him for his service to
our country; he is currently in Kabul, Afghanistan,
on his third deployment. His previous two deploy-
ments were in Iraq. James is a member of a U.S.
Army Advisory Program called the AFPAK Hands.
He has two sons who will turn 5 and 6 while he is
away. Thank you, James!
Jason Smith
recently took a job with Davis Polk
& Wardwell LLP, an international law rm in mid-
town Manhattan. He is legal assistant coordinator
for the Financial Institutions Group. Congrats to
Jason on his new role.
The timing of my mass email to our class was
perfect for some awesome news from
Dan Ba-
con
. His wife, Kate, had just given birth to their
second child. Charlie Bacon joins Dan, Kate and
big sister Hannah May. They live in Freeport, Me.
Yay, Bacon family!
Fellow English major
Scott Kramer
’s new(ish)
role as assistant director of the Yale Alumni Fund
has him feeling a bit nostalgic for SLU. (We all have
those days, right?) If you’re wondering how Scott
made his way to New Haven, he went in 2009 to
be with his signi cant other after a decade in NYC.
Brett Johnson
is back in the U.S. after four-plus
years in Macedonia and Botswana, and back in
the home o ce at CARANA Corporation, where
he works with
Nathan Van Dusen
on USAID
economic development projects in the Balkans,
Kenya and Ethiopia. Brett tells me he was recently
in Kenya, and was able to visit the St. Lawrence
KSP campus, which brought back many fond
memories. He and wife Zoe recently purchased
a house in Takoma Park, Md., with their children
Anders, 5, and Annika, 3. They often spend time
with Nathan,
AdamHudson
and
Justin King
.
Beth Angerosa Klarin
is living in central New
Jersey with her husband Johan, and twin (!)
3-year-old girls. She writes that she recently took
a hiatus from practicing immigration law to be
the legal writer for Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen
& Loewy, LLP, the world's largest immigration law
rm. She’s able to use her background as both a
journalist and immigration attorney to manage
the writing function for the rm's U.S. and global
teams.
Neil Patel
gave me the skinny on not only him,
but many others! Neil has a going-on-4-year-old
daughter, Samira, and a 5-month-old-son, Ashan.
He lives in Albany, N.Y., and is running a wealth
management rm.
Neil tells me that
Jamey Mock
lives in Mason,
Ohio, with wife Jenn and their two children,
daughter Logan, 3, and son Tyler, 1. Jamey has
been with GE since graduation and is a CFO of
one of the aircraft engines business lines.
Neil also passed along other news:

daughter Jocelyn, 2 1/2, and is a regional sales
manager for Comcast.
Je Hall

Gabriele ’00 and two daughters, Paige, 2, and
Maren, born Dec 20, 2011. He’s an investment
product manager with TIAA-CREF.

ciety, which provides environmentally friendly
products.
