Hi everyone! Short column this time but that’s
OK because I know that many classmates are busy
writing to me as I type!
Despite living in the same city for many years, I
hadn’t been in touch with
Liz Gardner
in a long
time. Through the magic of Facebook, I got this
brief update. Liz is still at Crate & Barrel. She has
been working for them for 15 years. She recently
sold her house and moved to downtown Chicago.
“Apartment living is for me!” she exclaimed. Look-
ing forward to hearing more soon!
Another Facebook friend took pity on my re-
quest for news.
Adolph Brink
is a project man-
ager for a commercial glazing company, Concord
Glass. He lives in Branford, Conn., and is married
with a 14-year-old son, AJ. Adolph is entering his
23rd year of coaching high school hockey, and is
head coach at Branford High. “That’s about it,” he
said, but that sounds like it keeps him plenty busy.
Thanks for the update,Adolph.
I started my last column with a reminder about
Reunion. This time I will close with a reminder to
book those hotel rooms, buy those airline tickets,
get in touch with your old roommates etc. Our
class will be celebrating our 25th anniversary of
graduating from St. Lawrence. I really hope to see
all of you in Canton, May31-June 3!

signed copies of her book
last summer at the Antique
Boat Museum in Clayton,
N.Y. The presentation was
part of the museum’s 2011
Summer Lecture Series.
Claire’s book, which took
four years to complete, reveals the human side of
the Seaway project in the words of 53 engineers,
carpenters, laborers and their wives. It highlights
the dangerous and brutal working conditions, the
larger-than-life equipment, and the construction di-
lemmas encountered, and was written as a tribute
to the hard work and dedication of the project’s
22,000 workers.
