Melissa Hayman-Witman
and
Tim Witman
were married on August 21, 2010, on Newfound
Lake in Hebron, N.H. Melissa recently nished
her Ph.D. in physiology from the University of
Utah. She and Tim are living in Salt Lake City and
enjoying their time there and, I’m sure, got in a lot
of skiing.
I recently took a trip to Santiago, Chile, to visit my
brother, AndrewCook ’00.We traveled all over the
city and up to the beach district inViña del Mar for
their annual festival. Since Chile is in the South-
ern Hemisphere it was summer there. Andrew is
an English professor at Universidad Mayor, the
most competitive college in the country; he loves
his work and the city of Santiago. I’m thinking my
next South American visit we’ll hit up Peru and
see Machu Picchu—one of the perks of having a
brother who lives abroad!

Hello, classmates!
Derek Buckingham
and Alicia McNally Bucking-
ham '06 welcomed a daughter into the world on
January 4. Their 4 ½-year- old son, Dylan, named
his brand new sister Hailey Susanna. Congratula-
tions to you!
I reconnected with
Shanna Treworgy,
who lives
in Hanover, N.H., and is a clinical psychologist at
a private clinic of the Dartmouth Medical School.
She says she has lived all over the country over
the last decade and is plagued by our mutual
friend, the travel bug!
Jonathan Kent
wrote to say he is two years into
his role as director of admissions at Hartwick Col-
lege in Oneonta, N.Y.
Sara Rademacher Kent
is in her rst year of a master’s program at SUNY
Oneonta, for school counseling.
And that is all I have this time around. Please let
me knowwhat you're up to. Until next time, I wish
you all the best!

rentians representing the classes of 1948 through
2008!”Colby said.
Anna Larson
escaped New York City for adven-
tures in Alaska for a couple of weeks inMarch. She

corner. He's doing well as a lead software engi-
neer at his company, iFactory, where he has gone
through a few promotions recently.” They live
right in Boston and get to see a lot of Laurentians
since there is such a big group in Boston, includ-
ing many cross-country running alums. They got
a dog in September--a brindle-colored boxer mix,
“weighing in at 60 pounds, super sweet and ador-
able.”
Vanessa de Bruyn
joined the Foreign Service in
January as a public diplomacy coned Foreign Ser-
vice o cer (a "cone" is like a career track, or spe-
cialization, or focus). FSOs are commissioned by
the President of the United States, with the advice
and consent of the Senate. She explained that this
basically means she’s a diplomat. Her rst tour will
be in Sana'a, Yemen, as the embassy's information
o cer (read: spokesperson). She’s there for two
years, beginning in August. Until then, she’s at the
Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Va., taking
courses in public diplomacy, Arabic and “defen-
sive/counterterrorist driving and explosives and
weapons familiarization,” she said.
I did some fundraising for the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society recently. I still see people like
Lindsay Farrar
in Albany regularly. As always
you can reach me by email or on Facebook or
Twitter @DanielleSanzone.
