Basler Uithol
, a full-time, stay-at-home mom of
her four “keikis” (kids) after another recent stint
in the Army. While Dawn misses her patients and
colleagues after serving for 15 years with Army
family medicine, she is happy to be “home.” Dawn
did see Jen Hammer McGee ’90 and encourages
more SLU alumni to visit!
Speaking of the Army, I heard from Deputy Com-
manding Officer
Michael Brophy
, who recently
finished another tour in Iraq. Mike, who has been
to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once, moved from
Savannah, Ga., to Dublin, Cal. (near the San Francis-
co Bay area), where he is working with a unit that
trains National Guard and reserve soldiers who
are getting ready to deploy overseas. Thanks,Mike,
for the update, and thank you for our safety!
Also, I heard from
Leisle Meserole Bartley
and
Regina O’Neill
. Leisle, who lives in Venice,
Cal., with her husband and two sons, recently left
her full-time job providing mental health therapy
and counseling to children and their families. She
often sees Regina, who lives in West Hollywood,
Cal., and is a hedge fund consultant and paddles in
the Pacific Ocean with the local Outrigger Canoe
Club.
I’ve decided to pursue a change in careers after
16 years in sales and sales management. I’ll be
staying with ADP but am transferring to our sales
operations team, working in the sales leadership
and performance division. My main responsibility
will be to promote sales representatives who have
an interest in sales leadership/management by run-
ning the leadership development program for ADP.
I’m excited about the change, the travel and the
new responsibilities. I’ve always had an interest in
training and this opportunity allows me to stay in
Buffalo while working for a company I love.
As we get closer to reunion in June 2012, please
keep in touch. Those who don’t have updated con-
tact information: please inform the alumni and par-
ent programs staff or go to https://alumni.stlawu.
edu/. Also, feel free to e-mail me with more news
to share!

Not much news to report. I will take a moment
to congratulate
Allegra Pawlowski
on being
named a BritishAirways Face-of-Opportunity win-
ner in December 2010.
Allegra writes: “Allegra’s Idylls is a custom travel
planning/concierge service. We work withYOU to
discern the perfect match for all of your vacation
dreams. Together, we will design the vacation or
getaway you have been yearning for and needing.
We will tailor it to fit your specific needs. Working
with us will allow you the time to devote to pack-
ing and accomplishing everything you need to do,
BEFORE you go.”
In addition to business networking meetings, as
a Face-of-Opportunity winner,Allegra had the op-
portunity to travel to Italy, visiting hotels in order
to be able “to match the hotel to the clients’ par-
ticular needs.” You can see the blog of her trip at
http://allegrasidylls.blogspot.com.
Congratulations to Allegra—what a wonderful
opportunity! I hope the rest of our class will take
a moment to share their triumphs (even if they
don’t involve winning airfare to anywhere in the
world!).

Kelley Bordeleau Lamb
wrote with news
that she has a new future SLU alum: Linus Lamb
was born on September 16, 2010. He joins his
mom and dad, Jason Lamb, at their new home in
Calais,Vt. Kelley is the assistant to the president/
secretary of Vermont College of Fine Arts.To Kel-
ley’s surprise, she learned that another SLU alum
lives just down the road: Lisa McCarthy ’98. Lisa
and Kelley were in Spain together in 1996. It’s a
small world!
Denise Durant
spent their summer preparing
to move. They are leaving Bennington, Vt., at the
end of November to start a new job in St.Albans,
Vt., where she will be the only hand surgeon in
town. Her daughter Piper turns 3 in October and
they are excited to be much closer to family and
“old friends.” They are planning a trip in Septem-
ber to Vegas for the annual American Society for
Surgery of the Hand meeting.
Denise and her husband, Merrick, recently visited
D.C. and met up with Melissa Wilson MacGregor
’98 and her children, Elizabeth and Alex. They also
met up with Deb Kaufman Levy ’95, her husband,
Robert and their two children, Samantha and Jor-
dan.
Denise attended her last meeting as a member
of the St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees
in May. In her words,“What a great four years. It’s
amazing how dedicated everyone is to St Law-
rence, and to see the University’s transformation
since 1997 was incredible.”
With that, I encourage classmates to visit cam-
pus if you haven’t recently and to be sure to send
me any updates since we last heard from you. Best
wishes to all!
Tese Little Lights of Mine
“Te bluish-green table lamps with their
gilded turned maple bases, solid brass ft-
tings and of-white vellum shades add one
of the few notes of color in the subdued
beige-on-beige room.”
Tat’s from a description of the Oval
Ofce in the White House. What it
doesn’t say is that the ceramic lamps were
designed and created by
Christopher
Spitzmiller ’94
. Spitzmiller, of New York
City, reports, “I’ve made some other
lamps for the Obamas. It’s a really amaz-
ing thing to have happen. I was an intern
in the Clinton White House. I thought
back then, ‘Wouldn’t it be something
to make a piece for here?’ I guess it’s a
testament to positive thinking. I made
lamps for the Clintons and for the second
George Bushes, but none have been in
such a prominent spot.”
