established to dedicate an interview room in the Career Planning and

Upon
retiring from St. Lawrence last July 1, after working for the University
for 31 years, John Clark '69 found he had time to do some things he'd
always dreamed of doing, such as a cross-Canada solo bike trek. He flew
to Vancouver last September 5 and he and his 27-gear, 28-pound bicycle
and 50 pounds of camping and cooking gear arrived home outside DeKalb
Junction, N.Y., on October 15. Clark told a Watertown Daily Times reporter
that he mostly traveled the wide-shouldered Trans-Canada Highway, staying
in motels more than he had planned to so he could keep up with the news
after September 11, and that the monotony of the prairies was a tougher
challenge than the terrain of the Rockies. The former St. Lawrence wrestling
coach and director of athletics has since returned to coaching, this
time for the Canton High School wrestling team.
