The drawing from the village of Nova Aliança, Purus River in Brazil, shows a typical weaving pattern. The central motif is called bawe, which is the name of a plant squeezed in the apprentice's eyes to enhance her capacity of visualizing designs when weaving. This motif is surrounded by a "path" (bai) composed of the txede bedu (parrot's eye) motif. On the edges at the top and on the bottom are kape hina (alligator's tail).
